Can you get a junk truck picked up for free in the Chicago suburbs?
Yes. Junk Car Pickup Chicagoland Easy tows junk trucks, vans and SUVs from the Chicago suburbs for free, and no towing charge comes out of your offer. You send the year, make, model and title status, we call back with a number, and you're paid at pickup when the truck is collected.

A pickup that’s been parked beside the garage since the transmission let go. A cargo van that used to carry ladders and now just carries leaves. An SUV the mechanic called “not worth it.” We make offers on all of them, as part of the same junk car pickup across the suburbs we run for cars.
What we take
If it has four wheels and it’s done, send it through the form, whatever shape it’s in. Retiring more than one work vehicle? One visit can take them all. That includes:
- Pickups: half-ton, three-quarter-ton, older square-body trucks, crew cabs with rusted-out beds.
- Vans: cargo vans, passenger vans and minivans, whether they run or not.
- SUVs: the ones with blown head gaskets, bad transfer cases or flood damage.
- Wrecked trucks: front-end hits, rollovers, anything the insurance company totaled and handed back.
We buy junk, wrecked and scrap vehicles. A clean, running truck you’d rather sell to a private buyer is a different sale, and you’ll likely do better that way.
What to tell us so the offer holds
The offer is built on what you tell us, so the more accurate the first message, the fewer surprises on pickup day. Before you hit send, check these:
- Year, make and model. The trim helps too if you know it (an F-150 XLT, a Sierra 2500).
- Title status. Yes, no, or registration only. No title? Say what you’ve got instead, and we’ll check it against Illinois rules on the call.
- Does it roll? Can the wheels turn and the steering move? A truck with a locked-up axle or four flat tires is still a sale; the tow just needs to know.
- What’s bolted on. Plows, lift kits, ladder racks, toolboxes, a camper shell. Say whether they’re staying on the truck.
- Where it’s parked. Driveway, side yard, gravel pad behind the garage, a shared lot. Give the pickup address as the place the truck actually sits.
Clear the cab and the bed first
Work trucks and vans collect things. Before pickup, go through:
- The glove box, door pockets, under the seats and behind the rear seat.
- The bed, the toolbox and any locked storage.
- Garage door openers clipped to the visor and toll transponders (an I-PASS stuck to the windshield is easy to forget).
- The license plates. In Illinois they stay with you, not the vehicle.
Anything left in the truck leaves with it. If you share a lot with neighbors, our tip on pickup from apartment and HOA lots covers gates, assigned spaces and who to tell.
How the day goes
You get the offer by phone after you send the form. If it works for you, we set a pickup time; same-day pickup is often possible. When the tow truck arrives, you sign over the title (or hand over the papers we confirmed on the call), the truck is loaded, and you’re paid at pickup. Towing is free.
We pick up across the suburbs we serve, from Des Plaines down to Chicago Heights and out to Joliet and Aurora.
Quick answers
Do you take trucks and vans that don't start?
Yes. A truck with a dead engine, a failed transmission or a rotted frame is exactly what we buy. Tell us it doesn't run when you send the details so the offer and the tow are planned around that.
Is towing a big pickup or van extra?
No. Towing is free and nothing is taken out of your offer for it. If the vehicle is bigger than a regular pickup or full-size van, say so up front so we can confirm the pickup before you accept.
What if I can't find the title?
No title? We can still help. Tell us what you have for the truck: bill of sale, registration or insurance card. Which of those works for a scrap sale is up to Illinois rules, and we'll check it with you on the call. In the form, pick No or I have registration only.
Should I take the plates off?
Yes. In Illinois the plates stay with you, not the vehicle, so remove them before the truck is towed.
