Junk Car Pickup Chicagoland Easy

How suburban junk car pickup works

Junk car pickup with Junk Car Pickup Chicagoland Easy runs in four parts: an offer by phone, a pickup time you choose, the paperwork, and the tow truck. Towing is free, you're paid at pickup, and you know the number before anything is booked.

How long does junk car pickup take?

Once you send the form, we call back with an offer, and the form's promise is a call within 15 minutes. If you accept, same-day pickup is often possible. At the curb it's short: you hand over the keys and the title (or the papers we confirmed on the call), the car is loaded, and you're paid at pickup.

  1. Offer

Send the year, make, model and title status, then your contact details and the pickup address. We call back with an offer.

  2. Pickup window

Accept the offer and choose a time. Same-day pickup is often possible; it depends on the day and where the car is.

  3. Paperwork

Have the title ready. Without one, the papers you listed on the call, once we've confirmed Illinois accepts them for a scrap sale.

  4. Tow truck and payment

The car is loaded and you're paid there and then, through Zelle, Cash App or another app, or in cash. The tow itself is free.

Your pickup-day checklist

Most delays on pickup day come from small things nobody thought about. Run through this list the day before.

  1. Paperwork in hand. The title, ready to sign over at pickup. No title? Have the papers we confirmed on the call ready.
  2. Plates off. Illinois plates stay with you, not the car. Take them off before the tow truck arrives.
  3. Car emptied. Glove box, center console, door pockets, trunk, under the seats. Don't forget garage door openers, parking permits and an I-PASS transponder on the windshield.
  4. Keys ready. All of them, if you have more than one.
  5. Path clear. Move bikes, bins and other cars. In a garage, make sure the door opens. In a shared lot, see our tip on apartment and HOA pickup.
  6. Notice deadline known. If the village has left a notice about the car, tell us the date. Our guide to inoperable vehicle rules explains the 7-day clock.

Loose ends once it's towed

Two loose ends. First, the Illinois title has a detachable notice-of-sale section; fill it in and mail it to the Secretary of State so the record shows you sold the car. Second, call your insurance company about the policy on that car. If your registration had lapsed, there's nothing to renew; see selling with expired registration in Illinois.

Our route through the suburbs

We pick up across the Cook, DuPage and Will County suburbs, including Joliet and Aurora. The suburbs we serve page lists each town with its own pickup notes, and our old car removal and junk truck and van pages cover the most common jobs.

Pickup questions

Do I have to be home for pickup?

Yes, or send someone you trust with the keys and the papers. Payment happens at pickup, so a person needs to be there to take it.

Can the offer change at pickup?

The offer is based on what you tell us about the car. If the car matches the description, there's nothing to change. Tell us about missing parts, flood or fire damage, or a car that won't roll before pickup, not after.

What if the car won't start or roll?

That's normal for a junk car and doesn't stop a sale. Tell us when we call so the tow is planned for it.
